The Tides of Change

Wow, it's been a real long time since I have used this account! When I first started writing blogs, I was trying to pave my way in affiliate marketing. Unfortunately for me, this just wasn't working as fast as I wanted it to. So I changed the ballgame a little bit.
Last July I entered a coaching program that taught me how to start my own online business and every since I went live I couldn't be any busier! While my new project (http://www.bargainfishingsupplies.com) was an instant success, I quickly learned that it also has to work like a living, breathing entity. Just as times change, so too does it have to in order for me to continue being successful.
Over the course of the last six months, my website has; teamed up with UPS to ship everywhere that our products are needed, gained full product descriptions, been completely redesigned to be more visually appealing, added over 470 products and much more! To tell you the truth, I've been absolutely shocked about how busy that I was for the first few months!
It's been a little slower now as the weather has grown colder and I am growing anxious for the new season. After filling orders, (and after the kiddies are asleep!) I've begun looking into writing reviews for my products because let's face it... The product descriptions do a great job at telling you the "what", but leave a little to be desired when it comes to the "why". When looking back at my emails and previous orders, my heaviest traffic came from people who already knew what they wanted. The demographic I'd like to also target are those who need to know what they need before buying it.
That that brings me back to Hubpages. This has always been a beautiful outlet for my wife and I to use, as it's a reputable service, and I hope that by getting back into the swing of things, I'm able to reach out to a new audience.
I'm a fisherman myself. I've always had a secret passion for fishing, though I'm one of the only people I know that catch to eat. Most people I talk to either catch for sport or to catch and release. Most of my experience fishing goes back to private land and I've never caught anything more than bass, catfish or crappie, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying other fish through other's experiences! I love reading about some of the truly magnificent battles taken place between fisherman and their 30lb prizes!
I spend a lot of time, actually, reading about other species of fish that I would like to catch, how to catch them and where the best places to go would be. It's my hope that in the near future (preferably sometime this year) we get the chance to go take a few fishing trips to some of the places I've been researching!
For now, however, I'll be working on my website. If I can't get out there and do it at least I know that I'm helping others get out on the water.
So here it is. What I've been up to in a brief nutshell. I'm sure I rambled a bit, you'll have to forgive me that, I'm still getting in the swing of writing again. As the future permits, (as well as time!), it's my hope that you'll be hearing from me again and if you haven't already, check out what's been keeping me so busy over at Bargain Fishing Supplies!
